“My story is kind of the cliché version of I always wanted to be a vet. My family raised show rabbits, and I learned how to walk by following them around the house. I got my first dog (a basset hound) on my third birthday. Fast forward to my elementary years, I was taking care of our chickens, sheep, goats, dogs, cats, rabbits, and horses. Once I started shadowing at my local vet in high school, I knew that there was no other profession I wanted to be in.”

Dr. Abigail Winebaugh is the newest addition to Dwight Veterinary Clinic, and she is thrilled to join this awesome crew! Dr. Winebaugh earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama (Huntsville) and her doctorate degree from St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine. She completed her clinical at Mississippi State University. Her primary interests are behavior, acupuncture, and the surgical needs of cats and dogs. She is fear-free certified.

In her free time, Dr. Winebaugh enjoys knitting, sewing, and hiking with her dog, Bandit, an Australian cattle dog mix. She recently got Rhode Island Red and Easter Egg chicks and is looking forward to watching them grow up.
